Before my journey towards better health, I was overweight and oblivious. My size seemed normal compared to my family and friends; however, my grandmother saw a path ahead that would be hard to return from and gifted me my first gym membership. This gift changed the course of my life, and turned into a “way of life.” As a young mom of three, I was encouraged to pursue certification to teach group fitness classes by a friend. I discovered so much fulfillment in helping my peers grow in health and fitness. Ten years later I have enjoyed multiple opportunities to lead, teach, and coach women and men of all fitness levels. I love seeing the same light that was ignited in my own life more than twenty years ago illuminating the path forward for someone else and sparking their own fitness journey!
Most people coming into a gym, or working out for the first time, are there because of something subconscious. The physical reason for beginning a workout routine (even if they are already in shape) might have been the reason they walked in, but it probably wasn’t the primary motivation. My passion as a coach is to help my clients address the physical reasons that got them into the gym, so that they see the need to, and have the capacity to address any deeper needs leading to an overall healthy mind and body.
